The Lamborghini Huracán Performante is the track-focused variant of the Huracán, developed specifically to set lap records and provide a more driver-focused experience than the standard EVO. It uses the same 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 as the Huracán EVO but in a higher state of tune, producing 640HP at 8,000 pm identical to the EVO in peak power output. The critical difference is the Performante’s weight and aerodynamic package. The car weighs 1,382kg 40kg lighter than the EVO achieved through extensive use of Forged Composite, Lamborghini’s proprietary forged carbon material. Forged Composite is used for the front splitter, the rear wing, the engine cover, the front hood and structural components throughout the body. Unlike woven carbon fibre, Forged Composite is manufactured under high pressure from chopped carbon fibre strands in a mould, which allows more complex shapes and thicker structural sections than traditional carbon weave. This gives the Performante a structural rigidity benefit over the EVO as well as the weight saving.
ALA-Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva
The Performante introduced the ALA active aerodynamics system to the Huracán range. ALA uses electric actuators to open or close ducts in the front splitter and rear wing elements, routing airflow either through the body (reducing drag for acceleration) or over the aerodynamic surfaces (generating downforce for cornering stability). The system can direct downforce independently to the left or right side of the rear wing, allowing a vectoring effect in corners that complements the all wheel drive system. At low speeds the actuators open to reduce drag and maximise acceleration. Through corners they close on the outside of the bend to generate asymmetric downforce. This is a simpler but functionally similar concept to the ALA 2.0 system used in the Aventador SVJ. The ALA system combined with the lighter Forged Composite body helped the Performante set the Nürburgring production car lap record for its class in 2017 at 6:52.01 — a figure that stood until the SVJ broke the overall record in 2018.

Performante vs EVO Spyder – which Huracán?
The two Huracán models in the Starr fleet serve different purposes. The EVO Spyder is the open top convertible with a soft top roof, the LDVI integrated vehicle dynamics system, and a slightly more accessible character for first time Lamborghini hire. The Performante is the fixed-roof coupe with the ALA aerodynamics system, 40kg less weight, and a chassis tuned specifically for cornering precision over comfort. The Performante produces the same 640HP as the EVO but in a lighter and more aerodynamically developed car that rewards a more committed driving style. For a driver who has already experienced a Lamborghini or wants the most track focused road car in the Huracán range, the Performante is the correct choice.
The Performante on UK roads
The Performante’s 1,382kg kerb weight and the ALA system give it a character that is immediately different from the EVO on UK roads. In Corsa mode the highest performance setting the suspension stiffens, the exhaust opens and the ALA system operates at its most aggressive downforce setting. On fast open A roads this makes the Performante feel smaller and more responsive than its dimensions suggest. The V10 at high revs in this mode is the loudest car in the Huracán range available in the Starr fleet. On motorways in Strada mode the ride settles to a level that is acceptable for longer distances not comfortable in the way of a grand tourer, but usable. The North Coast 500 in Scotland, the Snake Pass in the Peak District and the Brecon Beacons B4069 are three UK routes where the Performante’s aerodynamic and dynamic package can be understood fully on public roads.
