The Ferrari 296 GTS is the open-top version of the 296 GTB and the most technically advanced convertible supercar available on self drive hire in London. It carries the same plug-in hybrid powertrain as the coupe: a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 paired with a 122 kW electric motor producing 830 bhp combined, covering 0 to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds and reaching 205 mph. The retractable hardtop is the Assetto Fiorano configuration, which adds approximately 70 kg over the coupe but uses a lightweight panel design that stores neatly above the engine bay when retracted. The roof mechanism takes 14 seconds to operate and works at speeds up to 28 mph.
Starr Luxury Cars offers Ferrari 296 GTS hire in London from £1,455 per day, with same-day delivery to Mayfair, Knightsbridge, and anywhere across central London. Every hire is fully self drive from our Berkeley Square base. Browse the full Ferrari hire fleet in London and the UK, or visit the Starr Luxury Cars homepage for the complete range.

The 296 GTS makes an argument that no previous open-top Ferrari has been able to make convincingly. The plug-in hybrid system fills the power band from the moment you pull away in Mayfair, which means there is no waiting for turbos to build pressure and no hesitation leaving a junction in Chelsea or joining the A3 from the Hogsmill interchange south of Kingston. The electric motor delivers torque immediately. The V6 takes over above 3,000 rpm and builds to 8,000 rpm with a sound that Ferrari’s own engineers describe as a piccolo V12, a small twelve-cylinder. With the roof retracted and the mid-engine bay directly behind the seats, that sound enters the cabin completely unfiltered.
The seven driving modes run from full electric eDrive through Hybrid, Sport, and Qualify. In eDrive, the car runs silently on battery power alone, which is useful for early morning collections from Mayfair hotels or quiet residential deliveries across London. In Qualify, the full 830 bhp system is available with the most aggressive throttle mapping the car offers. Most clients use Sport for the majority of a UK road hire and switch to Qualify for a specific stretch of open road.

Every vehicle in our fleet is maintained to the highest standards to ensure safety, performance, and a flawless driving experience.
Clients choosing between these two open-top Ferraris are making a decision between two generations of mid-engine philosophy. The Ferrari F8 Spider hire produces 710 bhp from a twin-turbo V8 with a harder, more mechanical character at high revs, starting from £2,195 per day. The 296 GTS produces 120 additional brake horsepower, uses the more sophisticated hybrid drivetrain, and has a more resolved interior with updated Ferrari HMI, starting from £1,455 per day. The F8 Spider suits clients who want a more visceral, less filtered driving experience. The 296 GTS suits those who want the most technically current open-top Ferrari available on hire in the UK.
For the fixed-roof coupe version, the Ferrari 296 GTB hire is available at £1,295 per day. For the grand touring open-top alternative, the Ferrari Portofino hire is in the fleet. For wider open-top comparisons, the performance car hire UK page covers Lamborghini Evo Spyder hire and McLaren hire.
