Starr Luxury Cars offers Jaguar self-drive hire across the UK, with vehicles available for collection from our London Mayfair base or delivered to your home, hotel or airport. The Jaguar fleet covers electric performance with the I-PACE, SUV versatility with the F-PACE, and open-top sports driving with the F-Type S Cabriolet. All vehicles are fully maintained and available for UK-wide delivery including Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh.
ABOUT – HISTORY FROM JAGUAR
The iconic Jaguar brand was founded originally as the ‘Swallow Sidecar Company’ back in 1922. The company was originally set up to manufacture motorcycle sidecars before going on to develop bodies for commercial passenger cars.
Whilst Jaguar was under the ownership of S. S. Cars Ltd, the business extended its operations to cars made in association with Standard Motor Co, many of which bore the iconic Jaguar brand name.
In 1945, the name S.S Cars was changed to Jaguar, which is how we know it today. In 1984, the luxury car manufacturer Jaguar was floated onto the London Stock Exchange and became an honorary member of the FTSE 100 in the process.
In 1990, Jaguar was acquired by Ford and has since gone on to become the official vehicle for many A-list celebrities and the Prime Minister of the UK. Jaguar also holds royal warrants from Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles.
The cars of today are hand crafted and designed at the Whitley Plant in Coventry and have since extended to another site based at Gaydon in Warwickshire.
Most recently, Jaguar has announced that it will be investing 160 million USD into research and development to remain at the forefront of modern luxury car design.
