Dodgeball Rally – Car Hire Terms and Conditions. (Last Updated 11th February 2025)

Company – Starr Luxury Cars LTD (Company Registration 10012187)

Hire Agreement – The agreement set out in the Terms and Conditions and all paperwork, including check sheet and other documentation as part of the vehicle hire. By signing this agreement or any document as part of your hire vehicle supplied by Starr Luxury Cars, you are in agreement with all our terms and conditions and any further terms and conditions invoked by our partner supplier (company that sub-contracts vehicle/services to Starr Luxury Cars for the provision of fulfilling Starr Luxury Cars client orders).

Hire Period

The hire period are days set out by the length of the Dodgeball Rally.
The Dates and times of the hire period may not be extended without the Company’s express authorisation.

Hirer’s Obligations

The hirer must look after the vehicle and the keys to the vehicle. You must always lock the vehicle when you are not in the vehicle and use any security device fitted to or supplied with the vehicle. It is the hirer’s responsibility to protect the vehicle from any bad weather which can cause damage.

The correct fuel must be used by the hirer in the vehicle.

At the end of the hire period, the hirer should return the vehicle back in the same condition as when received, wear and tear accepted; and shall deliver at the place and at the time directed by the company.

The hirer is responsible for any damage to the vehicle whilst in their possession. For example, the cost of repairing a punctured tire falls under the hirer’s responsibility. This also applies if the tire is punctured due to the hirer’s actions, such as driving over debris or using the vehicle in a manner that causes damage. The hirer agrees to cover all reasonable repair costs necessary to restore the vehicle to the condition recorded in the hire check-out report.

The hirer will remain liable for the vehicle until a member of the company has inspected the vehicle and accepted delivery.

Company’s Obligations

The company assures you that the vehicle is roadworthy and suitable for renting at the start of the rental period.

The company is responsible for providing a replacement vehicle if the hirer’s vehicle becomes unusable due to a manufacturer’s fault. This does not include incidents such as a punctured tire or similar issues beyond the company’s control or caused directly by the hirer.

Conditions for Use of Vehicle

The hirer must only drive the vehicle within the written permission schedule via the Dodgeball Rally.

The hirer must not use the vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, this will result in the loss of deposit.

The hirer may not allow any additional drivers unless pre-approved by the company.

Payments

A booking deposit of 50% of your total hire is required to secure the vehicle for the rally.

Payments must be cleared funds showing in our accounts.

The refundable security deposit is due on request and must be paid before the hire commences.

The refundable security deposit is returned after 7-10 working days from the hire end date. Extra charges, or traffic fines, may be deducted from the security deposit after informing the client.

Charges

A refuelling service charge of €60 is applied plus the charge of refuelling the tank to full position or position at time of hire.

The hirer is responsible to pay all fines and court costs for parking, traffic and other offences such as Speeding Tickets, Parking Fines, and Road Traffic Acts. Failure to pay the appropriate authority any fines and costs will result in the company charging the hirer administration charges, which arise to deal with such matters, starting from a minimum of €60 administration fee.

Mileage

Mileage is set to cover the mileage of the rally, unless different mileage is stated on any hire document.

If the vehicle is driven in excess mileage, the hirer will be subject to the charges stated in the hire documents.

Insurance

The amount of the insurance excess depends on which car you have hired.

Only the individuals named on the hirer or insurance documents are permitted to drive the vehicle. If any individual not named on insurance is deemed to be driving the vehicle, the hirer will forfeit and lose their entire deposit.

Accident

If the hirer has an accident, they must not admit responsibility.

The hirer must obtain the names, addresses of everyone involved and the witnesses at the scene.

The hirer must inform the company immediately.

Cancellation Policy

The company reserves the right to refuse hire to any hirer at any point in time if the company deems the hirer to be unsuitable (e.g. age is not suitable, license details do not comply).

If the hirer requests to cancel the hire after payment has been confirmed, the hire will be subject to a cancellation charge:

• The hirer will pay 50% of the hire fee if the hire is cancelled two calendar months before the rally start date (4/9/25).
• The hirer will pay 100% of the hire fee if the hire is cancelled under one calendar month before the rally start date (4/9/25).

Termination

If the vehicle is returned before the rally ends, the hirer is not entitled to any refund or credit for days left of the hire.

The agreement can be terminated by the company if the hirer fails to pay any amount on/by the due date of payments.
