Starr Luxury Cars – Car Hire Terms and Conditions. (last updated 14th February 2025)
Definitions.
Hirer/Client – Person or Company named in Contract or entity on behalf of whom the agreement is signed with the understanding of hiring the vehicle.

Company – Starr Luxury Cars LTD (United Kingdom Company Registration 10012187)

Vehicle – The vehicle described on the rental agreement or any replacement vehicle, or any vehicle offered in extensions of agreement.
Accessories – The spare wheel, tyres, tools, handbook and service vouchers and all other equipment and items with which the vehicle is supplied and any replacements thereof.
Hire Period – The period from the ‘Date and Time Out’ specified on the Rental Agreement/Check Sheet Report until the re-delivery of the vehicle into the physical custody of the Company.

Hire/Rental Fee or Charges – The total charge for the hire of the vehicle to the Hirer calculated in line with the method set out on the Booking Form/Rental Agreement. All payments due to the company must be made on or before due date; any failure of payments on their due dates will be classed as a default by the hirer, and the company reserves the right to void the hire agreement with any loss of deposits or previous payments by the hirer. The Company is not obliged to provide the vehicles when there has been a default by the hirer.
Hire Agreement – The agreement set out in the Terms and conditions and all paperwork, including check sheet and other documentations as part of the vehicle hire. By signing this agreement, you are in agreement with all our terms and conditions and any further terms and conditions invoked by our partner supplier.

Hire Period
The hire period is per day within a 24hrs period.
The Dates and times of the hire period may not be extended without the Company’s express authorisation.
If the hirer/Client wishes to extend the hire period, the company must be informed at least 12 hours before the end of the hire period. Failure to do so may result in an extension fee.
The Company is not liable for any delay in the availability of the Vehicle.

 

Hirer’s Obligations

• The hirer must look after the vehicle and the keys.
• The hirer must always lock the vehicle when unattended.
• The correct fuel must be used.
• The hirer must ensure the vehicle is only used on public roads.
• Unauthorized off-road use will result in full liability for damages.
• The hirer must not allow repairs without the company’s permission.
• The hirer is responsible for additional drivers’ compliance with these Terms.
• The hirer agrees to be liable for all damage while in possession of the vehicle.
• The hirer remains responsible until the company inspects and accepts the vehicle.
• The hirer is responsible for all fines, penalties, and liabilities.

Company’s Obligations

• The company ensures the vehicle is roadworthy at the start of the rental.
• The company is responsible if someone is injured or dies due to negligence.
• The company is not responsible for financial loss, missed opportunities, or inconvenience.
• The company will offer a 100% refund or a substitute vehicle if the requested vehicle is unavailable.

Conditions for Use of Vehicle

• The vehicle may be used for business and personal use but not for unauthorized purposes.
• The hirer must not use the vehicle for hire or reward without permission.
• The hirer must not drive the vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
• Only pre-approved additional drivers may operate the vehicle.
• The hirer is responsible for ensuring passengers comply with legal requirements.

Payments

• All self-drive hire payments must be made in advance.
• A 100% hire fee payment is required to confirm the booking.
• Refundable security deposits must be paid at least 7 days before the hire.
• The security deposit is refunded within 7 working days after the hire, but extra charges may apply.

Charges

• Car hire prices are bespoke and confirmed at the point of invoice/payment.
• A refueling service charge of 250AED applies plus the fuel cost.
• Late payments incur an interest of 4% per week.
• Failure to pay may result in legal action and collection costs.
• The hirer is responsible for all incurred charges, fines, and penalties.
• The hirer will pay for loss of income up to 30 days if they cause damage, theft, or a write-off.
• A minimum 250AED administration fee applies for unpaid fines.

Mileage

• Mileage allowance is 250km per day unless otherwise stated.
• Excess mileage incurs charges as per the hire agreement.

Insurance

• All vehicles include self-drive hire insurance.
• Additional drivers must be approved by insurance before hire.
• Insurance excess ranges from 12,000AED to 250,000AED depending on the vehicle.
• If using personal insurance, the hirer must ensure full coverage and liability.
• Only named drivers on the contract are permitted to drive.

Driver’s License

• A valid driver’s license is required for the rental period.
• An international driver’s permit may be required.
• Additional drivers incur a minimum fee of 350AED.

Accident

• The hirer must not admit responsibility.
• The hirer must collect details of all parties and witnesses.
• The hirer must inform the company and police immediately.

Cancellation Policy

• The company may cancel the hire if weather conditions are unsuitable.
• If the car is faulty, an alternative or refund will be offered.
• The company reserves the right to refuse hire at any time.
• Cancellation charges apply:
  • 30+ days before hire: 50% charge
  • 7 to 30 days before hire: 75% charge
  • Under 7 days before hire: 100% charge

 

Termination

• No refund or credit for early vehicle return.
• The company may terminate the agreement if payment is overdue.
• The hirer is not entitled to a refund for fuel left in the tank.
• Legal or financial distress can result in termination without notice.
• The company may repossess the vehicle if needed.

Data Protection

• The company may use the hirer’s data for market research.
• If the hirer breaches the agreement, details may be shared with credit reference agencies.

Governing Law

• This contract is governed by UAE law.
• All disputes will be handled in UAE courts.
