Highlights of 2019 for Starr Luxury Cars
2019 was another brilliant year for us and the whole prestige car industry. We’ve seen the release of numerous beautiful new cars, added more options for you to choose from to our fleet and have seen a snippet of what’s to come in 2020 from various elite marques. From the revelations of the Geneva Motor Show to the rise of environmental awareness, we are always busy trying to listen to our clients, improve our service and provide the product which suits you best.
As we work with many VIP clients, we have spent years discovering the best places to visit across the country. This year we brought those places to you directly with our new
experiences offering, combining our luxury hire cars with some of the most exclusive and best places to visit in the UK. You can now let us arrange a trip for Valentine’s Day, a birthday or just as a treat for yourself and we will provide the full luxury experience, including a beautiful hire car to take you to and from one of the
best restaurants,
spas or hotels in the country. This has proven to be popular with a number of our clients enjoying adventurous driving experiences or benefitting from exclusive seats at and accommodation at the Monaco Grand Prix 2019 and we look forward to continuing this in 2020 with even more to choose from.
We are always privileged to be involved in charity events and this year that included making a donation to the Grand Prix Ball at Hurlingham Club’s charity auction, with all proceeds going to Wings for Life. Formed by two-time world motocross champion Heinz Kinigadner and the founder of Red Bull, Dietrich Mateschitz, Wings for Life was inspired by the lifelong injuries Kinigadner’s own son sustained in a tragic accident. This amazing charity does fantastic work in supporting research and raising awareness of spinal cord injuries, which cannot currently be cured. The work is well on the way to help patients with improved recovery and again, we look forward to continuing to play our small part in the future.
We are constantly looking for the next luxury hire car to add to our extensive fleet. At the beginning of the year we brought you the
BMW X7 SUV, an immense luxury 4×4 with one of the cleanest, most modern interiors in any luxury car. We also welcomed the new shape
Mercedes AMG G63, an infamous utilitarian vehicle which has been around for over forty years and now is a firm favourite with A-list celebrities, thanks to its unique driving experience and heavily updated interior. Following huge demand, we also introduced the
Range Rover long wheelbase and
P400e and most recently have secured the
new 2020 Porsche Taycan which will be available for hire following its delivery in January 2020.
2019 hasn’t just been an exciting year for Starr Luxury Cars. As mentioned previously, we’ve been truly inspired by some of the new reveals that have happened this year. We’ve seen the McLaren Elva release, a fully roofless £1.45 million hypercar which will be limited to just 399 models. One of the most innovative designs of the year, the McLaren Elva will also not have a glass windscreen. Instead new technology will force air up in front of the driver and passenger, creating a barrier which effectively has the same effect as a windscreen. Beautifully contoured and lightweight, the new Elva promises to travel at an immense speed, accelerating from 0-124mph in just 6.7 seconds, one of the fastest road legal McLarens ever produced.
We have also just seen the new Ferrari Roma release, a new grand tourer which hit the press thanks to its simplicity and elegant design. Although it’s still fast, for the first time in a long time Ferrari put the overall look of the Roma before the speed, stripping out many technologies which they use in their supercars. The new Ferrari Roma will be delicate and classy, an excellent new rival for Aston Martin. It features a brand new interior available in complimenting colour schemes and has been quickly dubbed as the most beautiful Ferrari made in the last decade. Another stunning luxury car we can expect to go on sale in 2020.

Over the last few years we have had multiple queries around professional chauffeur hire for events or personal travel circumstances where you don’t necessarily need to book a luxury car. So, we are proud to announce that in the first quarter of 2020 we will launch our new Driver on Demand service.
You will be able to browse our driver’s personal profiles and select the professional chauffeur that best suits your needs before booking them for your event. We work with highly qualified chauffeurs whom are trained in specialist areas of driving, have extensive experience in driving certain cars, chauffeuring certain guests or speak multiple languages, allowing you to find the best chauffeur in the UK to drive any car you wish. Not only does this ensure you will have a fantastic chauffeur-driven experience with one of our friendly chauffeurs, but you will also save on the cost of renting a prestige hire car. Perfect for business use, airport transfers or security needs, our new Driver on Demand service will give you more choice than you’ve ever had before.
As revealed back in November, we have three especially exciting new luxury cars for 2020 which will become available to hire at the earliest opportunity throughout the year.
The first to land will be the
Porsche Taycan hire car which is set to be delivered as early as next month and will be available for hire shortly after. The Porsche Taycan is the first all-electric sportscar produced by the marque and promises an incredibly rapid charge rate as well as a phenomenal range. It is also set to have a top speed of 161mph, making it faster than any Tesla ever made. One of Porsche’s most practical creations, the four-seater will have 400 litres of storage space available. It is beautiful both inside out, featuring a modern, simplistic interior and has been built using recycled materials wherever possible. An exciting move for the world of luxury cars as we all try to move to a more sustainable industry.
Also set to be received and available for you to hire in early 2020, the Land Rover Defender will be back on UK roads with an incredible 2020 edition. Originally revealed over 70 years ago, the new Defender has received an extensive redesign and new technology which promises it will be the best model yet. Also showing signs of innovative design, the new Defender’s exterior is the toughest the marque has ever produced, allowing you to travel in luxury no matter where your adventure takes you. The interior has also received major updates, now in keeping with the modern world so you never have to go without.
The 2020 Rolls Royce Ghost is undergoing a complete redesign which is still highly shrouded in secrecy. With a completely new aluminium body, the new 2020 Ghost will be lighter and have more room for modern technology and little luxuries. Whilst the details are yet to be revealed, we’re expecting the new 2020 Rolls Royce Ghost hire car to be faster and even more luxurious, definitely one to watch for in 2020. We’re expecting the 2020 Rolls Royce Ghost to be delivered later in the year and it will be available to hire shortly after.
